IMPORTANT UPDATES

Ribbons and Awards will be handed out tomorrow at practice under the pavilion. You will see ribbon boxes labeled by age group and gender. Simply find your little fish's folder and inside will be the loot.

On another note, there maybe some yellow DQ slips, we call these "Dairy Queen" slips even though we goto Orange Leaf to enjoy a frozen yogurt and talk about our swims. Lucky for us, tomorrow also happens to be Spirit Night at Orange Leaf, a perfect opportunity to celebrate your fish's accomplishments and support the Redfish Swim Team!

There has been a lot of questions about the Triple Fin Award, what it is and how it's earned. Just to clarify, this is a Season Award, so it is earned between the first meet of the season and the last. A swimmer must improve all three times in their events swum previously in the same season in a single meet to earn the Triple Fin Bag Tag Award.

For example, my daughter Taylor will be swimming the 25 backstroke, 25 butterfly and 100 IM. She did not swim the back stroke or the IM at the last meet and she was DQ'd in the fly so there is no way she can earn the Triple Fin Award. Although, moving forward, and bearing no DQ's she'll be eligible to win the Triple Fin Award at all meets because she will now have swam every single event in one season and be eligible to win the award with whatever she chooses to swim moving forward.

My daughter Nicole will be eligible to win the Triple Fin Award on Saturday because she is swimming the exact same events she swam at the first meet.

Hope this helps to clarify the Triple Fin Award and remember to check the ribbon boxes and enjoy a celebratory Orange Leaf tomorrow to support Redfish Spirit Night!
