Lap-A-Thon MONDAY!!!
Hello Redfish!!! What a week we have had! Swimming half our season in 6 days has been a roller coaster, for sure! I hope you have all had a spectacular time and are still smiling from the memories made. Enjoy sleeping in tomorrow!
Get you swimmers nice and rested over the weekend because Monday we all meet back at the MAC for Lap-A-Thon! This is always a fun family favorite! Below are all the details. Please feel free to reach out to any board member if you have questions, or ask in the Facebook group.
Why Lap-A-Thon:
This year’s fundraiser will be a Lap-A-Thon style event, with fun, friends, music, and of course lots of swimming! Our fundraiser is a critical part of our budget and helps us to maintain a strong summer swim program. Donations from Lap-A-Thon go towards:
- Senior scholarships
- Team ribbons and awards - First Time, Personal Best, and Triple Fins
- End of season awards
- Offsetting banquet costs
- Helping maintain and replace equipment
- Paying for Jose Rubio's doctor visit after his epic belly flop at the JCC. [Just kidding.]
Donations:
- Donations can be made as a flat pledge or per-lap pledge.
- Electronic donations are preferred and can be submitted here: averyranchredfish.com/donate
- Cash and checks (made payable to Redfish Swimming) are also accepted and will be accepted at Lap-A-Thon and the following practices.
- If you would like to utilize a corporate matching program, please email [email protected] for more information.
- Redfish Swimming is recognized as a 501(c)(3) public charity and can receive tax-deductible donations as allowed by law. Please include an email address to receive a receipt for tax purposes.
Goals: We want to bring in donations for our program, of course. However, just as important, Lap-A-Thon is a great opportunity for kids (and their parents) to really see how much they have grown as swimmers in a short time. Swimmers are encouraged to set goals for how many laps they want to try to swim during their allotted time. Every year, it is exciting to watch as young swimmers meet and exceed their goals!
Prizes: All participants will receive a certificate recognizing their total number of laps swum and a special treat! Prizes will be awarded (at the end of season celebration) to the boy and girl who swim the most laps in their age group.
Details:
- Monday EVENING, June 12, 2023
- Swimmers may attempt their laps anytime during their age group window. However, laps must be completed continuously. Swimmers may not get out and come back later to complete additional laps.
- Participation in Lap-A-Thon counts as one of the two required practices for the week.
- Age Group Times
- 5:00-6:30 ~ 8 & Under
- 5:30-7:00 ~ 9/10
- 6:30-8:30 ~ 11/12
- 6:45-9:00 ~ 13 & Up
- There will be no Monday morning practice, but there WILL be practice on Tuesday morning.
Please note, the HOA Board will be having their monthly meeting in the concessions room during Lap-A-Thon. We will not be serving food, drinks, or snacks from the room. Completion treats will be handed out under the pavilion. If you encounter any Board members, be sure to thank them for their support and let them know what the team means to you. We swim at the pleasure of the board.
Attachments: Families and swimmers can use the attached Pledge Sheet to record goals and track pledges. Additional Lap-A-Thon details can be found in the attached information sheet.
Thanks for making it to the bottom of the email! Have a great weekend and see you Monday!
