Hello Redfish Families!!

I hope this email finds you and your family rested after such an exciting weekend! After an awesome undefeated regular season it feels really good to walk away with a 2nd place overall finish in the NAAL! The coaches had a great time watching all of your swimmer’s hard work from the last 8 weeks come to fruition! Even with the spectacular heat, super shallow pools and walls that were definitely hard to turn off of, the swimmers raced their hearts out, cheered each other on, and the coaches heard so many compliments from other teams about what a great team the Redfish are! :-) We are all already looking forward to the next season!

Here are our final Swimmer’s of the Week:

6 & Under:

Sully Simonetta - Sully has worked SO hard this season!! The first couple of weeks of practice, Sully had a hard time making it across the pool independently. But he never complained at practices, he always had a smile on his face, always did everything the coaches asked, and has come such a long way! His strokes have improved tremendously and the coaches are so proud of Sully this season!

7 - 8:

Julia Whalen - Julia is such an integral part of the 7-8 girls! She’s a hard worker, a great breaststroker, very coachable, and a great teammate. She really stood out not just at the Champs meet, but all season and the coaches are super proud of her!

Andrew Kyle - Andrew had a great Champs meet! He really turned it on and was a great competitor and teammate for the 7-8 boys! He anchored both of the relays and the coaches could see him cheering on his team and then turning on his swimming jets to race his heart out! Both of his relays ended up with close finishes and it was so cool to see him really race like a “big kid”!

9 - 10:

Ryder Higdon - Ryder has had a great season! He has worked hard in practices, has been super coachable and had a great Champs meet! Ryder is another swimmer that the coaches really noticed cheering on his teammates and turning on some super fast swimming to help his team finish fast! We are super proud of Ryder this season.

Allie Williams - Allie had a FABULOUS Champs meet! In a tough pool she swam ALL best times in her events!! The 9-10 age group is super competitive and Allie really stood out at this last swim meet. She is more proof that you get out what you put in and the coaches are so happy that Allie had not only a great Champs meet, but also a great season!

11 - 12:

Hannah Jacob - Hannah’s first season with the Redfish was a great one!! The 11-12 age group is very competitive and the Redfish coaches really challenge this age group to perform! Hannah has always met those expectations with a smile, has been a great teammate and put in so much hard work this season. Her swims at the Champs meet were stellar and she was able to knock off over 2 seconds in both her backstroke and breaststroke events! She really stood out to us as we watched her swim and we are so proud of her!

Jack Kinder - Jack is a long time Redfish swimmer and his 7th season was awesome!! He busted out a great 50 fly on the medley relay, dropped half a second off his 50 free and over 3 seconds in his 100 IM! He was a fierce competitor and we loved watching him turn on his speed and cheer on his teammates!

Jayden Nguyen - Every time Jayden dives in, the coaches know we are going to watch a great race! Jayden is a ferocious swimmer, a closer for his relay team and a great competitor. In a tough age group, and a pool that a lot of swimmers had a hard time with, Jayden managed to drop over 3 seconds in his 100 IM (and take a 2nd place finish), and he dropped 1.43 seconds in his 50 fly! Jayden has had a great season and the coaches have really enjoyed watching him work hard at practice and swim his heart out at meets.

13 - 14:

Miles Massey - Miles is another long time Redfish swimmer who just finished their 9th season with the team!! Miles is a hard worker, a dedicated swimmer, and a great teammate. We have loved watching them swim their heart out and represent the Redfish! At Champs, Miles was another swimmer that the coaches noticed not only cheering super loud for their team, but also being a fierce competitor and helping the Redfish bring home 1st place finishes in both the medley and free relays! We are excited to see Miles continue to grow!

Heath Nowell - Heath is another 9th season finisher, a great competitor and teammate, and he had a great Champs meet with fabulous time drops in his backstroke and breaststroke! Heath’s technique has really improved this season and it showed in his performance at Champs. The Redfish have such a great group of older swimmers and Heath is an integral part of it! We are super excited to see where he goes with his swimming career!

15 - 18:

Ava Mieskoski - Go AVA!! The coaches were yelling that each time Ava dove in for her events!! Ava not only caught up to her competitors but she also passed them up in both of her relays! She was super exciting to watch! Ava was an important part of the Redfish taking 2nd overall with top finishes in each of her events AND she helped coach and cheer on the 10&unders at the meet the day before. We are really proud of Ava and love what she brings to the team.

Chance Noesser - Chance has been another standout this season! He works hard in and out of the pool! He has a summer job and then comes to all of the PM practices. He’s helpful at those practices as well as focused on improving his craft as a swimmer. The coaches have really noticed improvement in his technique this season and he has had lots of best times during this season as well! Chance was also a fierce competitor at Champs in an insanely fast group of boys and the coaches loved watching Chance swim!

We are incredibly proud of ALL the Redfish swimmers and are looking forward to celebrating everyone at our banquet on Monday, July 1th! Thanks to ALL of you as well for getting your swimmers to the pool for all the practices and the meets, for cheering us all on, and for all of your support!! Being a part of the Redfish is truly special and the coaching staff is proud to be a part of your families each summer!!!
